The shadow vanished around the corner. It was too much, he had to follow. Trotting silently after the creature, Jason tried to analyse exactly what it was he was tracking. He had thought it was a dog originally but before he had got close enough the power went down. With no moon or lights, Jason now had to rely on his acute hearing and superb sight. That last glimpse though made him think, he had never seen a dog that size before, and its tail was far too long. A crocodile, maybe an alligator? He dismissed that thought, its head was almost the right shape but it held itself too high off the floor.
